Q 1. Why is October 16, 1905 regarded as an important day in the history of Indian National Movement ?
 
Ans :- October 16, 1905 was declared to be a 'Day of Mourning' throughtout the Bengal. The Partition of Bengal became effective from 16th October, 190. People bathed in the Ganga and tied Rakhi on each other's arms-indicating that no govenment could divide them. People later took the vow of Swadeshi and trigged the Anti - Partition Agitation.  

Q 2. Who composed the Bande Mataram ? State the reaction of the massed to the proclamation of the Partition of Bengal ?

Ans :- Bankim Chandra Chatterjee composed the Bande Mataram. The Bengalies felt that they have been insulted, humiliated and tricked. They were ready for all sacrifices and fearlessly faced death to show the strength of solidarity.

Q 3. Bipin Chandra Pal was said to be "One of the mightiest prophets of Nationalism. " In this context : Mention his political aims 

Ans :- Bipin Chandra Pal popularly know as the Father of Revolutionary Thought in India, played an important role in awakening National consciousness in India. Hejoined Congress in 1887 and through his forceful speeches pleaded for the repeal of the Arms Act. In 1890, he toured England, France and the United States where he mobilised mass opinion for granting political rights to the Indians. Back home, he participated in several sessions of Congress and greatly contributed towards the growth of National consciousnes.
