Rabindranath Tagore was born in Calcutta. He started  writing from his childhood and composed 2,2300 songs, did numerous paintings, wrote eight novels and four novellas, many volumes of short stories, non-fictional essays and many plays. His writings deal with political and personal topics. He was the first non-European to get the Nobel Prize in 1919 for his collection of poetry 'Gitanjali'. He wanted to revolutionize the Indian education system and created a model of a ney type of university 'Vishva-Bharati' in Shantiniketan, West Bengal.

Q1.  Who was the child? What was her age? Describe Rahamat.
Ans . The Child was the narrator's daughter, Mini.
She was five years old. Rahmat was a tall, shabbily clothed vendor with a turban on his head, a bag over his shoulder and a few boxes of dry grapes in his hands.

Q2. What was the Kabuliwala's reaction when he saw Mini in her bridal attire? What didi he ask her with a smile? How didi she reat? What deeper thoughts occupied his mind at that moment?
Ans The Kabuliwala became confused when he saw Mini in her bridal attire. Their good - natured humour of old didnot work out. 
He asked her with a smile if she was going in her in-law's house.
Mini could not answer the way as she did in the past. Her face became purple in shame and she abruptly turned around and left.
He was sadly reminded at that very moment of the fact that his own daughter too must have grown up and he would have to get to know her all over again.
